I am a Linux Newbie, and I am looking for Archi CAD soft on Linux.
I used to run Autocad on windows and liked it a lot because, once you
now the commands, it is fast and convienient.
I have tried out several programs (QCAD, Octree, Cycas), and I find
that they lack power.
What I expect for a CAD program is :
* A powerful snap (like in Autocad, where you can specified :
ENDpoint, MIDpoint, CENter..., or in 3DS, where the snap appears on
the cursor)
* a grid and a snap to grid visual enough now when it works (I am
not joking, some programs do not even have a snap to grid)
* keyboard shortcuts or a command line (Octree has a nice command
line, but the commands are so ridiculous that you cannot remmember
them : like rde or something like this to redraw).
* an EPS output (I use LaTeX).
Do you know such CAD program on Linux ?
Can you tel me wich program do you use, and why.
Thanks a lot,
Gael
