not all Wine packages are created equal.  they can vary between 6 to 30 meg 
depending on the features/options(opengl, debugger, static,,) that were 
turned on at compile time.
to be honest with the exception of some of the codeweavers stuff the 6 meg 
builds have alsways been just as good as the 30 meg jobs for me.

the past 6 months or so they have been rewritting large chuncks to fix things 
like the install shield.  thedevelopers will be the first to tell you that 
they have broken as much as they have fixed.  from what i've read they are 
coming back up to where they were before only the code is "cleaner".
i guess this is another reason i have not spent much time on it.
