Hi Jason,
There's an example password script in the latest CD Shell distribution.
It contains a password hash generator, and an authentication example.
If you can generate MD5 sums by some other means, then you don't need
to use the password generator thing.
It works well for password-controlled access to things, especially when
combined with the ability to lock down the console (use sloader.bin from
the source distribution). The main problem I've had with it is that
password entry doesn't support backspace to fix typos.
