For what it is worth, I have succesfully used diskemu to load 2.88 images.
They were MS-DOS based images.  I ma currently using memdisk to load 2.88
images and am not having any trouble.  I haven't used GRUB yet but did you
create a new image from scratch for the 2.88 size or did you somehow expand
the 1.44 image?


(Now, if I could only get a hold of an actual 2.88 drive)
