Hello,
since there is no serial support in bootscriptor and i need the check
function here is what i did. There are only some problems i need your
help with.
This is the boot order
BOOTSCRIPTOR (checks if 0x80 is bootable
| or not)
|
--------+------------------------
| |
diskemu system.img diskemu install.img
| |
GRUB with special file GRUB with special file
In one (or maybe more) sentence I check for bootable disk with
bootscriptor and load one disk with GRUB for one of the two purposes.
I made this work with 1.44 disk images very fine. I cannot use memdisk
since it seems not to be possible to boot Linux from RAM Disk using a
MEMDISK boot disk (This also happens with plain isolinux memdisk).
Now my problem is that 1.44 is not enuf for stuff I have to store
(kernel, redhat installer stage1, grub...) and so i try to store
everything to 2.88 floppy images. MEMDISK is able to boot the grub
bootloader but the initrd/RAM Disk problem still occurs. If I use
diskemu here disk loads with "GRUB" and then the entire system freezes.
Do you have any idea what the problem could be? Any work around for
memdisk or something with diskemu?
I hope you are able to give me a clue.
Best regards.
