Crumley Pond, Paddle Creek Rd. Sullivan Co, TN
Gadwall 2
Ring-necked Duck 2
Mallard 4
South Holston Weir Dam, Sullivan Co., TN
Bufflehead 105
Canvasback 1 male, 1 female/young
Lesser Scaup 5
probable hybrid male Ring-necked Duck X Redhead found first of month by Rick
Knight and still there.
No wigeon. When did anyone last see the species there ? Christmas count ?
Thursday, Jan 12
just below Patrick Henry Dam, Kingsport, Sullivan Co.
no Great Blue Herons could be found in the large nesting colony.
One Black-crowned Night Heron on banks of South Fork Holston River
at Eastman just above Wilcox Bridge in Kingsport.
Friday, Jan 13
Middlebrook Lake, Bristol, Sullivan Co.
Ring-billed Gull - 835
Pied-billed Grebe -1
Hooded Merganser - 6 (warm weather may have started their northern migration.
They usually leave about mid February or so).
Great Blue Heron - 1
Mute Swans - 2
