At Clinch Mt Wildlife Area yesterday evening, I saw what I thought was a
female Hooded Warbler, with the yellow face sharply outlined in black
but noticed it had a very distinct white eye ring. The upperparts were
gray, not olive, no black necklace. The bird was giving a chink call
note. Could this have been a Canada/Hooded hybrid? I saw and heard
several Canadas in the area too.
Thanks for any thoughts on this.
