Area Birders, Today my father and I went to Boyd Ridge to sight in my .270 . After we got done with that I did some birding. Since the area I was in was a big field, I thought I would get some new sparrows. The Place is two large fields with scrub, bushes, briars, and woodlands. There is a large cliff on one side of the field. I didn't get the sparrows that I hoped for, but I did get two other lifebirds. The Golden-Crowned and Ruby-Crowned Kinglets. I got good looks at the female RC but just a quick enough look at the GC to distinguish what he was. Birding was slow at first, but when I went to the lower field, it was better. But only common winter birds. I did manage to get a good look, however, at a Yellow-Rumped Warbler and my first Dark-Eyed Juncos of the season. Here is the complete list: Am.
