near the S.F. Holston River in
eastern Sullivan Co. TN
16 July 2008
Black-crowned Night-Heron, 1 probable post-fledging dispersal.
A few "yards"
of Cliff Swallows
on one end of
power lines along
Paddle Creek Rd.
A typical swallow
scene for the next
few months with
fall migration
underway.
Cliff Swallows ~500 perched along Paddle Creek Rd.
and many hundreds more flying over farm buildings. The birds
occupied two strands for nearly a hundred yards.
