[Bristol-Birds] Re: new Gr. Blue Heron nests , etc., at Kingsport

Rick Knight's reminder that he reported the Sullivan County Great Blue Heron
nests on the ilsland of the South Fork Holston at Netherland Inn in
Kingsport last May 2005 is good stuff.

Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia birders have really done a
wonderful job seeking out and documenting this range expansion.

Our strength in this region has long been the data collection, indepth
documentation and teamwork we've instilled among region birders. Not to
mention the four books we've published on region bird distribution and bird
study.

Just think. We have two more books drawing close to presstime. What other
region our size can claim such success ? And you, Rick, have set our
standards and been our driving force for three decades.

Who would have "thunk" we would have such an army of birders getting it done
from Big Stone Gap, Saltville, Damascus, South Holston Lake to Jonesborough,
Greeneville, Rogersville, Church Hill, Kingsport and all the places between
?

Thanks again Rick Knight ! We have so many Great Blue colonies they are
hard to remember.

Watch those ridgetops, islands and hillsides, gang!

Let's go birding.....
