Fellow Birders,
Today, here on Compton Mt in Buchanan County, 2 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS showed
up in the yard. I saw the first one in the county for this season on Sept 26. A
single immature WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW was here also. It was also the second one
of the season.
A PINE WARBLER was among the many YELLOW-RUMPS that were feeding around the
yard, and a GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH stopped for a minute on his/her way through.

The RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH that I have been seeing and hearing in the area was
around most of the day. At one time I thought I heard two of them, but couldn't
be certain.

One of our bird club members saw the first WINTER WREN of the season Saturday,
10/9/04.

Enjoy the birds,

Roger Mayhorn
