All,
Wallace is right about the split of Common / Wilson's
Snipe. Wilson's is the snipe that we see here &
elsewhere in mainland North America.
Common Snipe does occur as a spring migrant in
Alaska's Pribilof Islands (& probably the outer Aleutians,
as well). I have seen it there. Wilson's Snipe occurs
there also, but less commonly (no pun intended). Last
summer we had a vagrant Jack Snipe, too.
