Greene County, TN (Greeneville and Tusculum areas)

I had little time to get out today, but was fortunate enough this evening to encounter a few migrants and other species in about an hour's birding not far from home. The best find was a Wilson's Warbler along Brown's Bridge Road not far from Tusculum College. The bird was in almost the same spot where I found one last September 18 during the Greeneville Chapter's fall count. In checking my records, I realized that this was only the fifth observation I have made of Wilson's Warbler in Greene County since 1994. All but one have been in fall, from September 5 to October 5.

Here's a list of the day's most notable birds--

Cooper's Hawk (2);
Northern Bobwhite;
Chimney Swift (14);
Ruby-throated Hummingbird (2);
Eastern Wood-Pewee;
Eastern Kingbird (3);
Tree Swallow (25);
Barn Swallow (14);
House Wren;
Tennessee Warbler;
Wilson's Warbler;
Indigo Bunting (4).
