[Bristol-Birds] White-eyed Vireo, etc. (Greene Co., TN)

November 6, 2004

Wal-Mart Distribution Center (WMDC);
Joachime Bible Refuge unit of Lick Creek Bottoms Wildlife Management
Area (JBR)

In a brief birding stop on my way to work this morning, I was quite
surprised to find an immature White-eyed Vireo on West Barton Ridge Road
in Greeneville. I checked my records after I got home and discovered
that October 8 was the latest that I had observed the bird in Greene
County and that most of my late dates had fallen in September rather
than October.

Other noteworthy sightings today were:

Northern Pintail (4 at WMDC, also seen by Linda Northrop);
Eurasian Collared-Dove (3 at West Greene High School, also observed by
Linda Northrop);
Red-breasted Nuthatch (on West Barton Ridge Road);
Vesper Sparrow (5 at JBR, also seen by Linda Northrop).
