The Russell County Bird Club went to Laurel Bed Lake this morning.
We found numerous American Coots and Ring-necked Ducks. One Northern Pintail
female and dozens of Pied-bill grebes.
3 immature and 1 adult Bald Eagles were observed at close range flying and
perched. The immatures were in varied states of changing into adults, some
head and tail white in each.
Participants were Tom & Laverne Hunter, Bob & Jean Montgomery, Fred & Janice
Martin, Jerry Thornhill, Dave & Diana Worley.
Even though it was cold the sun felt great and we lingered for a few hours.
