Birds were everywhere here in Breaks Va. on the Buchanan Co. side of the creek
this AM. I was amazed to find a Townswend's Warbler present in a feeder flock
of warblers foraging through the growth between woods & hayfield. It was a 1st
yr female with yellow face & breast w/ dark auricular patch. Other birds of
interest today were Blackburnian, Magnolia, Black-throated Green & Black&White
Warblers & Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Summer & Scarlet Tanagers, Wood, Swainson's,
& Gray-cheeked Thrush, Sedge Wren & Ruby-crowned Kinglet. I guess it was just
one of those days we birders pray for. The day list is at 50 & counting.

PS: Of course I called Roger Mayhorn & Ed Talbott , who both rushed over, & of
course we couldn't locate the Townsend's again. We did enjoy a lot of good
birds & fellowship. Dave
