Area Birders,
Michelle, Chazzy and I hiked up Caney Island Branch, the hollow behind our
house here in Buchanan County, VA, on Saturday morning. There seems to be
feeder flocks of warblers consisting of only a few birds starting to form. The
biggest surprise were three Tennessee Warblers in one small grouping. Other
warblers included Yellow, Yellow-throated, Hooded, Kentucky, Black-and-white,
and Worm-eating Warblers. We also found Scarlet Tanagers and Wood Thrush along
the hike.
