[Bristol-Birds] Swallow-tailed Kite Seen Aug 23rd

After striking out on Monday the 20th I decided to give it another shot. I arrived in the area frequented by the Kites around 1: 30 pm and worked the area between Eli Masters Road and Enon Church Road just off Hwy 107 in Washington County, TN.

I parked just off Enon Church Road. After about 15 minutes Nita Heilman from Clarksville, TN showed up also looking for the Kites. She had been scouting the area earlier as well with no luck. We both left the area at different times to work the river and fields off Jackson Bridge Rd and Charlie Carson. After I arrived back at Enon Church Road around 2:45 pm Nita had just spotted a Swallow-tailed Kite but I missed seeing it. We decided to walk down to the river to see if it might prove more productive and it was at that moment the Kite appeared over the river coming straight at us. Unfortunately it disappeared behind some trees and was lost from sight. We continued down to the river but never saw it again.

I may try to go back later to get a better look but for now it seems at least one of the birds is still in the area.
