Five arrivals in Greene County today--four summer residents and one
transient:
SUMMER RESIDENTS--
Eastern Wood-Pewee;
Yellow-breasted Chat;
Rose-breasted Grosbeak;
Blue Grosbeak.
TRANSIENT--
Swainson's Thrush (this is my earliest Greene County date since I began
keeping records in 1994).
I also observed (heard, actually) 41 House Wrens today--a significant
number for Greene County. This total resulted from only about 2.5 hours
of birding, a sizable portion of it spent in less than ideal habitat.
