[Bristol-Birds] Sullivan/Unicoi County Waterfowl

On Tuesday, Jan. 7, Gilbert Derouen, Reece Jamerson, Howard Langridge and Bryan
Stevens birded in Sullivan County, TN.

At Middlebrook Lake, Bristol, Tn: A Canvasback (probably a young male). And the
Common Goldeneye is still present.

At South Holston Lake from top of the dam:
Two Common Loons, raft of about 12 Ring-necked Ducks and a trio of Buffleheads.
Ring-billed Gulls, also.

At Musick's Campground: Eight Horned Grebe, 12 Lesser Scaup, Four Common Loon,
2 Pied-billed Grebes and Ring-billed Gulls.

We stopped twice to check for the Trumpeter Swan near the Bristol Raceway, but
didn't see it. We didn't look extensively, either.

------

I stopped at the Erwin Fishery Park pond in Unicoi County on the way home.
Present were four Green-winged Teal (three drakes and a hen), a drake/hen pair
of Gadwall and Wood Ducks, Mallards and Canada Geese.

Bryan Stevens,
Hampton, TN
