The following birds were observed this morning (April 24) between the
Nature Center and the point where Steele Creek flows into the lake:
Tree Swallows (7)
Northern Rough-winged Swallows (2)
Chimney Swifts (3)
Yellow-rumped Warbler (2)
Gray Catbird (1)
House Wren (1)
Carolina Wren (2)
Song Sparrow (3)
Several Crows mobbing a Red-tailed Hawk
Chipping Sparrows (3)
American Robin (several)
Common Grackle (3)
Yellow-throated Vireo (2)
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (4)
Northern Flicker (1)
Downy Woodpecker (2)
Red-bellied Woodpecker (1)
Eastern Phoebe (1)
Blue Jay (3)
Northern Cardinal (4)
Mourning Dove (2)
Tufted Titmouse (5)
Carolina Chickadee (4)
Also spotted last Friday (April 21) were 5 Blue-winged Teal (2 males, 3
females)
