[Bristol-Birds] South Holston Lake, The Weirs and Patrick Henry

It was a beautiful spring day (02/22) and the birds were courting! From
Musick's Campground I recorded 7 eared grebes, 4 horned grebes, about 10
pied-billed grebes, 1 double-crested cormorant, 1 immature bald eagle, 1
merlin, 1
raven, plus about 6 redheads..constantly moving and diving at some distance.
At
the Weirs I had a large number (did not count) of bufflehead courting, 1 mute
swan, a hermit thrush and 2 golden-crowned kinglets. Later, on the way home I
made a made a brief stop at the area below Patrick Henry Dam. I did see one
adult black-crowned night-heron but did not search for others. John Moyle
