Reece Jamerson, Gil Derouen and I birded Winged Deer Park, Austin Springs
(Johnson City, Washington Cty) and Musick's Campground (Sullivan Cty) today,
from about 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Highlights include:
Winged Deer Park
Phoebe
House Wren
E. Bluebird
Red-eyed Vireo
Black and White Warbler
Blackburnian Warbler
Tennessee Warbler
Chestnut-sided Warbler
Am. Redstart
Total species: 22
Austin Springs
D.C. Cormorant
A flock of ~386 Canada Geese flew in from the north and landed on the
river downstream from the Bridge
Blue-winged Teal
Bald Eagle (mature, flying up river over the Austin Springs Rd. Bridge)
N. Flicker
Ruby-throated Hummingbird
Tennessee Warbler
Palm Warbler
Total Species: 18
A family of 5 Otters playing on the pallet-like dock at the downstream side
of the bridge
Musick's Campground
Common Loon
Blue-winged Teal
Osprey
Bald Eagle (mature, in a tree across the water from the normal parking spot
Greater Yellowlegs (4)
Lesser Yellowlegs (1)
Pectoral Sandpiper (1)
