[Bristol-Birds] Second spring record Cattle Egret Southwest VA. (present now)

Area Birders:
Louise Tilson telephoned (9:55 a.m., Apr. 25) to report a CATTLE EGRET near her
home in Smyth County, VA. The bird evidently showed up this morning.

This is just the second known spring record for the species in Southwest
Virginia. It is only about the fourth or fifth such record for that area.

Take I-81 to Chilhowie and exit on to Va. Rt. 600. Continue on Rt. 600 towards
Konnarock (east-southeast of I-81) away from Chilhowie until you come to a
flashing caution light right at the river.

Turn left and go a short distance to a right hand turn onto Riverside Road.
Dirve up Riverside Road to her brick house which is address: 1147 Riverside
Road (near a big curve). Her house is on the left side of the road.

The Cattle Egret is behind her neighbor's house who lives across the street.
That house is brick and has a little white fence around it.

David Raines and neighbor, Ed Bailey, had a Cattle Egret, April 20, 2004, in
Buchanan County.

Let's go birding....
