[Bristol-Birds] Red-breasted Nuthatches, Hampton, TN

This morning (Tuesday, May 13, before leaving for work, I took a woodland
walk with my mom. We had five Hooded Warblers, three Black-throated Green
Warblers and two Ovenbirds and two Red-eyed Vireos in the woods around our
homes in Hampton, TN.

We also had calling Red-breasted Nuthatches. I'd estimate the elevation at my
home to be around 3,000 feet. Is that a low elevation for RB Nuthatches? And,
if they are present this late into spring, will they possibly breed?

The area where I see and hear them on a regular basis has a good stand of
hemlocks and pines.

Just curious. I'll certainly be keeping track of them as spring proceeds.
