At Carver's Gap and the Rhododendron Gardens before the butterfly count
Saturday the birds were fairly active. My parents and I observed many of the
usual suspects, including:
Carver?s Gap (Carter Co, TN) 7/21/07
Red crossbill (male, flying over the gap and up toward the gardens)
Pine siskin (15-20)
Alder flycatcher (4)
Canada warbler
Chestnut-sided warbler
Red-breasted nuthatch (5+)
Cedar waxwing (3)
Golden-crowned kinglet (several)
Common raven (3)
Indigo bunting (several)
Ruby-throated hummingbirds (4, Hummingbird Hill)
Northern bobwhite
Chimney swift (4)
Barn swallow (8)
Veery (3)
Thanks to Don Holt for an interesting and educational day.
