Swamp Sparrow (15 Oct. 29)
White-crowned Sparrow (1-3 Oct. 25, 29)

The Sharp-shinned Hawk, Bonaparte's Gulls, Savannah Sparrows, and Swamp
Sparrows were observed at the Lick Creek Bottoms Wildlife Management Area unit
located at Skinner Crossroads--i.e., the intersection of Highway 348, North
Mohawk Road, and South Mohawk Road.

The Common Loon was a major surprise, as this species is quite rare in Greene
County, which lacks significant habitat for loons. This bird was flying west,
perhaps toward Cherokee Lake or Douglas Lake.
