Bert,

I saw a nice colony of Purple Martins in the back of the brick house on the 
right
at the top of the hill as you travel up what I think is Hamilton Hill Rd. 
crossing the
ridge from the old Bluff City Hwy. just north of Silver Grove Rd. and crossing 
to U.S. 11E.

Let's go birding.....

  A friend has put up a fancy Purple Martin House. Has anyone in the Bristol - 
Bluff City area had martins nesting?
  He is from out of state and I have no experience with the critters. 

  Also I have 2 humming bird feeders up and haven't seen a hummer for two 
weeks--where are they?

  I have the most grackle I havea had in the past 50 years--
  what's grackling?
