This morning while surveying our roadside 6 acre field and marsh, I observed
a probable Henslow's Sparrow. Yesterday, we had burned the area, and this
morning I went down to check for any lingering, smoldering spots. Unfortuately
I
had a water sprayer but no binoculars. The bird was of the correct size,
perched on the top of a short sapling, singing a Henslow -like song. It was
in
a mashy area and there was alot of other frog and bird activity around. I
will check again tomorrow with my binoculars!
