Peggy A. Smith Jones, the mother of Rev. Lloyd Jones, one of the Bristol Bird 
Club's most beloved and enjoyable past members, passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 
2005, at the Cambridge House in Bristol Tennessee. 

Mrs. Jones, age 74, 238 Woodland Drive, Bluff City, TN, was the daughter of the 
late James H. and Susie Almany Smith. She received her degree in child care and 
development at University of Pittsburgh. She worked at Warrendale Youth 
Development Center for several years. After Mrs. Jones returned to Bristol, she 
was owner and operator a of day care center on the Lee Highway. After retiring, 
she managed several delis in the Bristol area. She was a member of Bluff City 
United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter M. 
Jones. 

Survivors include three sons, Jeffrey Jones and wife Claudia, Jay Jones and 
Lloyd Jones and wife T.J. Neal; grandchildren, Jeremy, Cassidy, Kelsey, 
Mackenzie and Caitlin; several nieces; and one nephew.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, 2005, at the 
Weaver Funeral Home Chapel, Bristol Tennessee, with Rev. David St. Clair and 
Rev. Lloyd J. Jones, officiating.

Pallbearers are Jeffrey Jones, Jay Jones, Lloyd Jones and Jeremy Jones.
The family received friends Sunday afternoon, Sept. 25, at Weaver Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Holston United Methodist Home for 
Children, 215 E. Springbrook Drive, Johnson City, TN 37601. Online condolences

Lloyd served four years as the treasurer of BBC (March 1993-Aug 1997).   He was 
a member of our club from April 17, 1991 unitl August 1997.

A former environmentalist with the Virginia Department of Transportation, Lloyd 
left activity with the BBC when he decied to answer the call to the ministry. 
He was gone for long periods during the summer to take courses at Duke 
University.  He is the pastor at Centenary United Methodist Church, 203 North 
Elm Street, Erwin, TN.
