August 10, 2007 [posting date: August 11, 2007] Early on Friday evening, August 10, I observed a Northern Waterthrush along a sluggish tributary of Richland Creek in Greeneville. I watched the bird for over five minutes, obtaining good looks at its supercilium, underparts, and tail-bobbing motions in order to distinguish it from Louisiana Waterthrush. This is a personal early date for NOWA in Greene County, about a month or so earlier than I typically find the species in fall. Don Miller Greeneville, Greene Co., TN pandion@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
