Having to shuttle Raceway Ministry volunteers in the frenetic traffic pattern 
of Bristol, TN today I decided to get in some get bird stops since I was 
already in the fray. Ladies and Gentlemen start your engines, here is the short 
list including some fairly high counts on a few species:

South Holston Dam:
Canada Goose - 5
Double-crested Cormorant - 24
Wild Turkey - 2
White-tailed Deer - 2
.
Wier Dam:
ran into Kevin Hamed who reported drumming Ruffed Grouse and a male flyover 
Northern Pintail
Bufflehead - yes
Green-winged Teal - 6 (three pair)
Beaver -1
.
Musick's Lakeside Campground:
Red-breasted Merganser - 22 (15 male)
Common Loon - 5
Bonaparte's Gull - 60
Ringed-bill Gull - 100
No Grebes
.
Middlebrook Lake:
Gadwall - 22
Wood Duck -3 (two male)
American Coot - 27
Sharp-shinned Hawk -1
Hairy Woodpecker -1 (male)
Eastern Phoebe - 1
Tree Swallow - 9
Northern Rough-winged Swallow - 1
