[Bristol-Birds] Minnesota Expedition

My son, Andy Jones, called last night with a quick report on what he
called a "great day of birding" (and freezing) with Wallace Coffey and
Dave Worley in northern Minnesota. I don't want to steal our beloved
leader's thunder, and I am sure that he will post a complete and
accurate report on his return, but Andy did mention that they had seen
many Great Gray Owls, Northern Hawk Owls, a Boreal Owl which entertained
them for 30 minutes, Hoary Redpolls and a Black-backed Woodpecker, plus
others. They found warm dry quarters and good food last night in Duluth.

Andy called this morning wanting weather information, but he lost the
cell connection before I was able to look it up on the web. I believe
that they intend to do more northern MN birding today (weather
permitting) and then head back to Minneapolis tomorrow morning.
