I didn't have as many warblers on Sunday, Sept. 14, at home on Simerly Creek
Road in Hampton.
The five warblers putting in appearances included Blue-winged Warbler
(fantastic looks), Chestnut-sided Warbler (adult and immature plumages),
Magnolia
Warbler, Tennessee Warbler and Yellow-throated Warbler.
Some new migrants did make their first appearance of fall, including Scarlet
Tanager, Rose-breasted Grosbeak and Indigo Bunting.
Other birds to round out the weekend included Chimney Swifts and Mourning
Doves.
