This morning I birded the crest of Powell Mountain and the Powell Valley 
(Cracker's Neck) while looking for pink moccasin flowers (I found 363).

  Turkey gobbler *(This bird gobbled in response to gunshots, 8 times.  Not 
safe for the bird and hunting in VA on Sunday is illegal)

  Hairy woodpecker

  Meadowlark
  Blue jay
  Cardinal
  Brown thrasher
  Sharpshinned hawk
