[Bristol-Birds] Kingsport Exchange Place Birdwalk

Mitch Moore will be leading a birdwalk at the Exchange Place in Kingsport this Saturday, April 29th at 10:15 AM. This is their Spring Garden Fair which is Saturday from 10 AM - 5 PM and Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM.

Exchange Place is a living history farm showing 19th century farm life of this area. It is located at the east end of Kingsport's Greenbelt on Chestnut Ridge. Don Holt noted that there are great wildflowers on the Greenbelt in this area.

Put it on your calendar and come by to help with the birdwalk --- it is being listed as a Bristol Bird Club sponsored activity. Mitch will be handing out BBC brochures. I have been having some interesting yard birds in Kingsport and there should be some good birds in the wooded area at and around Exchange Place.

Exchange Place is located at 4812 Orebank Road, Kingsport,TN 37664 (423-288-6071). You can turn onto Orebank Road from John B. Dennis only if you are coming from the south. If you are coming from the Bristol area by way of 11-W/Stone Drive, it would be better to turn at the signal light onto Cleeks Road and go 1/2 mile to Orebank and turn right. Exchange Place is about 3/4 mile on your right, parking will probably across Orebank from the farmhouse area. There is a signal light at Cleeks Road which is just past the Windridge subdivision which for you old timers is where the drive-in movie was. This is the first traffic signal coming into Kingsport.
