2/27/06 Got home early enough today to check things out from the dock. Highlights: Pied-billed Grebes - 4 Great Blue Heron - 4 in heronry, 3 on bank below heronry Canada Geese Wood Duck - 1 pair (Hooray!) Mallards - 4 Gadwall - 8 Green-winged Teal - 10 Double-crested Cormorants - 3 Ring-billed Gulls - 100+ Tree Swallows Cedar Waxwings - flock of 30+ 2/25/06 Checked heronry near the Steam plant - 5 Great Blue Herons in nests - Also located 3 additional nests 1/2 mile below Huey B. Day bridge on opposite side of bank - 2 were occupied Mike & I visited Don Miller's American Woodcock site (previously reported) on Sat evening - what a show we had!
