[Bristol-Birds] Herndon Bird Club--Additions and Corrections to Coming Events

 Herndon Bird Club upcoming events:

1.  May Field Trips
     Saturday, May 16, from Sycamore Shoals, Elizabethton.  Meet at 8 a.m.  
Trip leader:  Bryan Stevens

     Monday evening, May 18.  Evening trip for Prairie Warbler, Whip-poor-wills 
and Fireflies.  Meet at Whites Shopping Center, Main Street in Erwin at 6:00 
p.m.  Club members will eat at one of the food stands and car-pool for the 
field trip after dinner.



2.  June meeting of the Herndon Bird Club--Tuesday evening, June 2 at 7 p.m. in 
the Science Building at Milligan College (usual place)
     Speaker:  John Hay           Topic:  Birding in Chili, Part 2

3.  Two routes of nightjar surveys will be run after the June 2 meeting.  A 
third will be run a few days later, specifics yet to be determined.

4.  Summer bird count--Carter County        Saturday, June 6 (Saturday is June 
6, not June 5 as I erroneously had in my message of May 5).   Teams will be set 
up at the June 2 club meeting

5.  Owl Prowls--planning will be done at the June meeting.

6.  Club Picnic  at the Harris Pavilion at Rotary Park (first pavilion on the 
left as you enter the park) in Johnson City on FRIDAY, July 10.   
      (No pavilions were available for the preferred date of Saturday, July 
11).  More information on the picnic will follow.  The picnic will be held 
instead of a regular club meeting in July.

7.  Club planning meeting in August.  Date and place to be determined.  This 
will be held instead of a regular club meeting in August.

8.  Weekend field trip.  Weekend of October 17-18.  Birding in South Carolina.  
Mark it on your calendar--more information will follow.
