[Bristol-Birds] Hermit Thrush (Greene Co., TN)

October 12, 2005

Greeneville, Greene Co., TN

On my way to work in Greeneville this morning, I stopped briefly to check for birds at a favored spot in town. The site was almost dead, birdwise, but I did hear a Hermit Thrush calling from a thick mass of saplings and weeds at the edge of a stand of mature trees. In checking my records this evening, I discovered that October 12 is a week earlier than I've ever found Hermit Thrush in Greene County in fall.
