[Bristol-Birds] HOLD THE DATE -- BBC Annual Banquet

This is to remind all birders in the region to "hold the date" open on your
calendars for the Bristol Bird Club's Annual Banquet to be held Friday,
September 24, 2004, at Bristol, Tennessee.
Our president, Rack Cross, announced to the officers and leadership on July 22
that he had reserved "The Centre" on U.S. 421 in Bristol for the Sept. 24
banquets date. Since then our treasurer Janice Martin has paid a $250 deposit
for the facility and date.

The "Centre" has long been one of the most exclusive and attractive private
venues for regional civic events. It has been the site of many civic club
banquets, large community events such as United Way Campaigns, Chamber of
Commerce annual dinner meetings, etc. It is a nice and secluded place back
from the main highway with a private drive and more than enough parking right
up to the door. It is spacious and a wonderful place for a program with no
visibility or hearing issues. It is located on the right about two tenths of a
mile from the interesection of TN Rt. 394 and U.S. 421 as you head to South
Holston Lake from Bristol. You are going to love the setting and the convience
and the food should be excellent. It is owned by LinePower Manufacturing of
Bristol Virginia, the same people who own PowerLine Farms where we are
regularly allowed to bird near Darter's Store in Holston Valley.

Larry McDaniel, our v-p and program chair informed us June 17 that Peggy
Spiegel of Giles County, Virginia had accepted the Bristol Bird Club invitation
to be the speaker. She is one of the leading birders and speakers in Virginia.

So you can see that our leadership has been very busy getting everything ready.
Officers are currently working on details for decorations and menu and
reservations and publicity, etc. You will be hearing much more soon.

So hold the date of September 24, 2004 for the Bristol Bird Club annual banquet
and be there. It will be great fun. We will have plenty of room so invite a
friend or fellow birder or neighbor. Bring your mother-in-law !

Let's go birding...
