[bristol-birds] Gulls along the South Fork Holston (TN)

Birding in the rain after lunch today. Interesting gulls at
South Holston Lake and just below the dam.

Seven (7) Herring Gulls feeding at confluence of the spillways
below South Holston Dam. At least four were adults.
They were joined by about six Ring-billed Gulls.

Also seven (7) Bonaparte's Gulls at Musick's Campground
along with 3 Herring Gulls and 3 Ring-billed Gulls.

Just four Pied-billed Grebe and nothing else of note. Saw
where Rick Knight had recorded (at the sign-in station) that
he had seen four (4) Dunlin which were in Washington Co.,
VA across the Spring Creek Embayment along the shore
of Washington County Park. Some of that info he gave
me by cellphone as I was enroute to see the Ross's Goose
at Middlebrook.

There's some good birding out there. Migrants waterbirds
are being pushed in by the season and held up by the rain!

Get out and enjoy.

Let's go birding...
