I was not able to venture out as far as Rick Knight did today but I did stop at
Fort Patrick Henry Dam on my way home from Kingsport. There was nothing on the
lake as viewed from the overlook center. But below the dam along the river I
did find one of David Hunts Black-crowned Night Herons (an immature); 20
Mallards; 1 Black Duck and 1 Great Blue Heron. Several Yellow-rumped Warblers
were flitting about in the trees as well.
