[Bristol-Birds] Field Trip Report, March 29

In spite of early morning rain and chilly temperatures, 22 people met for a 
very successful Greene County field trip led by Don Miller (67 species).  The 
following species were of  particular note:  Wood Duck, Gadwall, Blue-winged 
Teal, Green-winged Teal, Wild Turkey (including a displaying cob), 
Double-crested Cormorant, Great Blue Herons on nests, Northern Harrier, 2 or 3 
Virginia 
Rail, many Wilson's Snipe, Red-headed Woodpecker, Horned Lark, Purple Martin, 
Northern Rough-winged Swallow, Cliff Swallow, Barn Swallow,  Brown Thrasher, a 
flock of 100+ American Pipits, Palm Warbler, Vesper Sparrow, Savannah Sparrow 
(several), Lapland Longspur and Rusty Blackbird.  The birding party included:  
Wilma Boy, Lois Cox, Jo Ann Detta, Zellie Earnest, Larry French, Bill Grigsby, 
Marty Huber, Mike and Susan Hubley, David Hunt, Tom Hunter, Rick Knight, Roy 
Knispel, Ron and Rose Lapp, Janice Martin, Don Miller,  John Moyle, Shirley 
Price, Jo Anne and Larry Routledge, and Dave Worley.
Next Trip:  Saturday, April 12.  Austin Springs, South Holston Lake, etc.
