[Bristol-Birds] Dunlin, etc. at Musick's Campground

On Tuesday, May 15, Gil Derouen, Reece Jamerson and Bryan Stevens found a
Dunlin in breeding plumage at Musick's Campground on South Holston Lake,
Sullivan
Co., TN. Also present were two Semipalmated Plovers and a Least Sandpiper.
Near the sign-in spot at the entrance to the campground we also observed a
fledgling Blue Jay as it was fed by a parent bird.

At Paddlecreek Pond, Bristol, TN, we had five Spotted Sandpipers, two
Solitary Sandpipers, 2 Least Sandpipers, 7 Semipalmated Sandpipers and a
Killdeer.
Also Wood Duck hen with ducklings and a singing Grasshopper Sparrow.

We got a digital photo of the Grasshopper Sparrow this week. Look at the
photo at:

At South Holston Dam, we had a Cliff Swallow, Barn Swallows and N.
Rough-winged Swallows.

Question? How dependable is a fluttery, sort of bat-like flight in
identifying a Bank Swallow? We saw one small-ish swallow that definitely had a
different
flight pattern. We never could determine a breast band.

Hampton, TN
