Area Birders,
Don Kroodsma, the renowned expert on birdsong, and the guest speaker at the VSO
meeting in May at the Breaks Interstate Park, has offered to conduct a free
outdoor workshop for those registered for the VSO conference.
The workshop, concerning how to listen to birds, will take place on May 7th,
Sunday morning from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. The early hour is to ensure that
participants hear the early singers. Dr. Kroodsma and participants will sit and
listen to bird songs, then discuss what they are hearing. Using his years of
experience Dr. Kroodsma will teach participants how to listen and how to
interpret what is being heard.
Twenty will be the maximum number of participants accepted for the workshop.
The first twenty people contacting me (Roger Mayhorn) via e-mail will be
accepted.
Roger Mayhorn
