I have a Cooper's Hawk nesting at the edge of my yard.
The nest is in a 80 foot White Pine, about 60 feet up.
The female stayed on the nest most of the day yesterday, but
at sunset, she became very active, coming and going.
I can't see the nest well enough to tell if there is young
yet.
Cooper's Hawks have been present at my place in the summer
for the last 3-4 years, but this is the first nest I have
found.
I will stop feeding the birds now. My feeder is within 100
foot of the nest.
