Had two Common Ravens in the large gravel parking area down near Cooper
Standard Plant in the Phipp's Bend Industrial Park area of Hawkins County
yesterday (Dec 7). A large flock of Eastern Meadowlarks gave me a start as
they settled into a lone tree out in a field near the same area. I counted
62 birds in the flock. Don't ever remember seeing that many together in a
flock at one time. Beautiful as they sat there with their bright, yellow
breasts facing the settng sun. Also one Red-shouldered Hawk. No harriers or
short-eared owls were seen (drat!).
