Area Birders:
Remember that tonight (Tuesday) the Bristol Bird Club
meets for our first ever occupancy of our new meeting
place at the Bristol Public Library.
President Dave Worley was up most of the night getting the agenda
together and has worked a few hours this morning trying
to write the agenda on the palm of his hand with a grease
pencil. He will be ready to go.
Janice Martin is at the grocery store as this is written
picking up a basket full of cookies, goodies, coffee, nuts
and such for our big open house reception.
If you have just appointed yourself to the hospitality committee
so you will not be without your favorite jelly beans, then bring
your candy and Janice will make sure there is a place on the
table for your jellies.
Officer Jim Poor, one of two security guards at the library,
will be the usual handcuff man for our meetings. He is polishing
his badges and shoes for tonight's big grand opening. He will
open the room, stay with us to guard against terrorist attacks
and secure the place when we leave. Jim is our new Gary
(security at ETSU).
The library is located at the corner of Goode and Piedmont and
the meeting room is in the glass round room over looking Piedmont
on the second floor. Park on the upper level behind the building
and come in the double white doors at the end nearest the round
glass windows.
If you are on a diet, bring your diet pills which Janice will put out
on the table so you can go through the reception line with everyone
else and have something to celebrate with like everyone else.
Only officers are coming in full formal attire. Everyone else please
come looking your usual birdy self. All attending the meeting are
required to wear clothes.
If you get lost in the parking lot call me at 423-360-2532 and I will
send a search party to rescue you are talk you in for touchdown.
Please join your fellow birders for a Dutch dinner at 6 p.m. at the
Mad Greek Restaurant. It is an excellent place to gather and
repeat gossip on other birders. Some start coming as early as
5:45 p.m. due to the very large amounts of food ordered for their
plates.
Let's go birding. . . . .
