David Thometz and Bryan Stevens spotted a male Blackpoll Warbler at Erwin
Fishery Park, Erwin, Unicoi Co, on Sunday morning, May 6. It was a life bird
for
David and the first time Bryan had seen a Blackpoll Warbler in Unicoi County.
The Blackpoll was foraging in some low shrubs, and then moved to some taller
trees. In addition, they observed a flock of about 15 Cedar Waxwings and 1
Gray Catbird.
In the wetland area adjacent to the park's pond, they saw two Spotted
Sandpipers and two Solitary Sandpipers.
In addition, at home in Hampton, Carter Co., TN, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks are
still present. Rose-breasted Grosbeaks have been a daily visitor since April
25.
Bryan Stevens,
Hampton, TN
