[Bristol-Birds] Black-bellied Plover, Dickcissel, etc. (Washington Co., TN)

May 28, 2005

Limestone, Washington Co., TN

The Black-bellied Plover reported by Rob Biller the last couple of days
on Powell Road in Limestone was still there this afternoon when Alice
Loftin and I paid a visit. On our way to Powell Road, we stopped by
Keebler Road and found six Dickcissels. This familiar route has become
a veritable corridor of Dickcissels--what a treat for east Tennessee!
On Corby Bridge Road, just past Keebler Road, we found a seventh Dickcissel.

Also present on our brief trip to Washington County were:

Great Blue Heron (13 at the Onks Lane rookery);
Black Vulture (33);
Cooper's Hawk;
Northern Bobwhite (giving the koi-li call near the intersection of Old
State Route 34 and Taylor Mill Road in Limestone).
